BETHANY COLLEGE HOLDS WARNER HALL RIBBON CUTTING CEREMONY

LINDSBORG, KS., AUG. 17, 2022 – Bethany College held a ribbon-cutting ceremony marking the completion and reopening of Warner Hall on Aug. 11, 2022. Warner Hall was constructed in 1969 and named in honor of a gift from Mr. and Mrs. Walter Warner. The Warner renovation was made possible with a generous $3.6 million gift from Roy and Donice Applequist.   


The newly renovated building is a 46,883-square-foot resident hall with 116 beds. Each room is for one to two students with a shared bathroom. Renovations included a new roof, flooring, electrical and plumbing upgrades, HVAC, windows, and more. 


President Elizabeth Mauch reminded those in attendance, “Do not walk away today thinking that the work is done. Instead, let this positive outcome renew your commitment and serve as the momentum needed that [Arvin] Hahn, Bethany's 8th president, described as the untiring dedication and persistence that Bethany will always need for success." 

 

Bethany College, established by Swedish Lutheran immigrants in 1881, is a college of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Bethany College is proud to announce the return of sideline cheer, launching with the 2025–26 academic year. Leading the program is newly appointed head coach Patricia Smith, an experienced educator and cheer coach. Sideline cheer will return to Bethany’s home football and basketball games.

Bethany College is pleased to announce the appointment of Audrey Saxton as the new Assistant Professor of English. Saxton earned both her Master of Arts and Ph.D. in English from Penn State University, where she taught courses in writing and composition, world literature, and pre-1800 literature.

Bethany College is pleased to announce the appointment of Megan Case as the new Assistant Professor of Religion. Case earned her doctorate from the University of Texas at Austin in 2016 in Ancient Mediterranean Religions with a graduate portfolio in Women's and Gender Studies.
