SwedeHearts - Josh '13 & Jenni '16 Snider

Feb 17, 2022

I first came to Bethany in the fall of 2012. I became friends with Ashtyn "Warner" Snider (Johnson). She had an older brother, Josh Snider, who I thought was so good looking! It was Homecoming in 2012 and Josh was up for Homecoming King. My family came to town and during the homecoming football game, I pointed him out and mentioned that he was Ashtyn's brother and that he was SO cute. However.. he was a senior, I was just a freshman, and he was my friend's brother... That was an automatic "keep it to yourself and move on, girl!" He graduated in May of 2013, but stuck around Lindsborg which meant I got to see him quite a bit through my now best friend, Ashtyn. Fast forward to the fall of my Junior year and Ashtyn, myself, and a couple other friends went to the Stuga one night in November. We walked in and there was Josh sitting at the farthest round table by himself. We went towards that table and I sat right next to him. We all talked, had a good time, and left. We went back to our rooms in Anna Marm, I texted Ashtyn that I thought her brother was SO cute!! (this was a BIG secret to keep for a couple of years!) Nothing ever came of it until finals week that December. Ashtyn, myself, and one of our friends picked up Pizza Hut and went to Josh's apartment. He wasn't there, but we made ourselves at home. He came home a little bit later, a few other friends showed up and we decided to make the trek down Main Street to the Stuga. However, before we left I didn't have a coat, so he kindly offered me his sweatshirt. (What a gentleman!) We all had a wonderful time at the Stuga, but my friend and I decided to leave because we had Jultide the next day, so we wanted to be well rested and ready to go! We went back to Josh's apartment to grab our things and I decided to leave a note on the back of the Pizza Hut receipt. I thanked him for letting me borrow his sweatshirt and (regretfully) left his sweatshirt for him. By the time my friend and I got back to Anna Marm, I checked my phone and I had a Facebook message from Josh and well.. Here we are! We've been married almost 6 years, living in Lindsborg, with a beautiful 5 month old. Thank you Bethany and thank you Ashtyn for not unfriending me after telling you that I thought your brother was cute. ROCKAR STOCKAR!
